Popular Armenian actress Hasmik Gharibyan, who died in the US, will be laid to rest in Armenia, her friends told Armenian News- NEWS.am.

Gharibyan’s relatives, who are currently in the US, will try to have her body transferred back to Armenia as soon as possible, albeit such procedures usually take one or two weeks.

We also have learned that Gharibyan had died in hospital. Her friends had learned about her illness about 1-1.5 years ago. The popular actress had done everything in the US to recover, but to no avail.

As reported earlier, actress Hasmik Gharibyan, who is well known in Armenia for her role in a popular sitcom, died of cancer in the United States at the age of 34.

Gharibyan had moved to the US in 2012, where she later married Nerses Abrahamyan, the son of famous Armenian organist Levon Abrahamyan.

The actress had cancer, which she could not defeat.

And Hasmik Gharibyan’s husband wrote on his Facebook page the following to his wife: “I will always love you, my life. We will also be together in the next life.”
