YEREVAN. – Trees were planted Saturday at the garden of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia.

The event brought together MPs, NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Hrayr Tovmasyan, and the NA Staff members.

The participants planted fifteen  maple and fifteen ash trees.

Underscoring the holding of such events, Tovmasyan noted that if each Armenian citizen plants one tree in Yerevan, the capital city will become more beautiful and its air will be cleaner.

Ruling Republican Party MP Hovhannes Sahakyan, for his part, noted that this is not the first time that he is taking part in this tree-planting with his son. Sahakyan informed that, for him, tree-planting means the beginning of a new life and continuity.

Tree-planting is held at the National Assembly garden twice a year.
