YEREVAN. – The 39th Congress of the Communist Party of Armenia (CPA) has kicked off on Saturday.

The foreign guests to the event include Kazbek Taysaev of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and Temur Pipia of the Unified Communist Party of Georgia.

In his address, CPA Central Committee First Secretary Tachat Sargsyan first announced that fifteen youth have joined the party ranks on the eve of the congress.

Subsequently, Sargsyan delivered a report on the CPA activities for the past four years.

He focused on the need to further intensify the activities to preach socialism among the public. The CPA leader especially stressed the need to further strengthen the strategic union with Russia. He also pledged, on behalf of all communists, to continue to take active steps to achieve a successful completion of the Eurasian integration process.

Several resolutions are expected to be adopted at Saturday’s session of the 39th Congress of the Communist Party of Armenia.
