YEREVAN. – The regular meeting of the Interstate Technical Committee on № 524 Railway Transport Standardization (ITC 524) kicked off Wednesday in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

The discussants will confer on the 2014 results and the 2015 objectives of the ITC 524 plus rail transport safety, and a meeting is expected with the railroad manufacturers of Armenia.

The general director of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) company, Victor Rebets, delivered welcoming remarks at the event. He added that the delegates will get familiarized with the SCR activities and accomplishments during their forthcoming visits to the railway facilities.

The ITC 524 is a working organization of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the Commonwealth of Independence States (CIS). 

Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan are members of this committee. In addition Moldova and Tajikistan participate in its activities as an observer.
