Iran can supply several times more natural gas to Armenia.

The aforesaid is stated in an article published in the Sicurezza Energetica (Energy Security) online newspaper of Italy. 

According to the report, if the recent progress—which was achieved in the negotiations between Iran and the West—enable to introduce the Iranian natural gas to world markets, the conjuncture can completely change.

Consequently, in the longer term, it seems likely that the annual export of gas from Iran to Armenia will increase from 500 million to 2.3 billion cubic meters.

“We should not forget that Iran is the only country in the world, which has gas reserves equivalent to Russia’s,” the newspaper also noted.
