More than ten Armenian churches functioned in nine Italian cities back in the 12th century, and their number reached forty in the 15th century.
President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is in Italy on an official visit, noted the aforesaid on Saturday in Naples, Italy.
Sargsyan stated this in his address delivered in connection with the unveiling of a cross-stone devoted to the Armenian Genocide, and the return of the remains of Saint Gregory the Illuminator.
