The International Court of Justice verdict on Kosovo does not serve as a precedent for other self-declared formations, said Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin.
According to him, importance of ICJ verdict should not be exaggerated, as the court has considered only the issue whether Kosovo has a right to adopt the declaration of independence from the legal viewpoint. The Ambassador noted that the Hague court gave no response to a number of questions, making a cautious and very neutral judgment. Dorokhin also stressed that Russia adheres to its stance on the issue. Thus, verdict on Kosovo does not create any precedent, as well as legal basis to encourage separatist activities.
