Armenian pianist to give concert at opening of Surb Khach church in Van

Renowned pianist Shahan Artsruni will give a concert at the opening ceremony of Surb Khach church on Akhtamar Island.

Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement Shahan Artsruni, an Armenian by origin, held talks with the Turkish Consulate in New York to give a concert in Van, Turkish Hurriyet daily reports.

In this regard, the ministry consulted with the administration of Van Province and University of Van, which also expressed supported for the initiative. Turkish Foreign Ministry cooperates with Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople in organizing the event.

With the opening of Surb Khach church, Turkey multiplies the so called gestures to Armenia, playing the card of Akhtamar.
