Official Baku may hold direct talks with Nagorno-Karabakh only if Armenia withdraws its troops “from occupied territories of Azerbaijan”, said Aydin Mirzazade, Deputy Chairman of Defense and Security Committee of Milli Majlis.

In case there were no Armenian troops in the Azerbaijani territory, Baku might have agreed to direct talks with Karabakh, MP noted, commenting on the NKR President Bako Sahakyan’s statement. Earlier, the President said that it is impossible to reach peace without NKR’s full participation in the peace process.

If the Armenian troops are withdrawn, Azerbaijan’s leadership would hold negotiations with the leaders of the Armenian community of Karabakh and would achieve a result meeting the demands of conflicting parties, MP stated.
