On August 2, Head of Russia’s Presidential Administration Sergey Naryshkin met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ramiz Mehdiyev in Baku.
Naryshkin told the reporters that the officials discussed the issues on cooperation in political, economic and social spheres.
“The positions of our countries coincide in the majority of the activities carried out in the international arena. We are satisfied with the development of economic cooperation. Despite global economic crisis, there were small losses in the goods turnover between our countries last year. We are sure that we will soon restore the goods turnover that existed in 2008,” APA news agency quotes Naryshkin.
Sergey Naryshkin also noted that energy sector is the biggest sphere of economic cooperation, adding that new agreements in gas and power industry were reached.
