Glendale Unified School District math teacher Talin Arsenian was elected president of the Glendale Teachers Association (GTA) and will assume her two-year term leadership post of the Glendale teachers’ union on July 1, Asbarez reports.

Arsenian has been an active member of the Association since she began teaching Mathematics in the Glendale Unified School District in 1999.

She has served as Secretary and Vice-President on the GTA Executive Board.

In 2013, Arsenian worked with GTA’s Bargaining Team to negotiate a free day for all Glendale Unified schools on April 24 in order to commemorate the Armenian Genocide.
