YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily has learned that the Government of Armenia will send several volatile drafts to the National Assembly for the latter’s special session slated for June 15, reported the daily.

“Furthermore, the government has anticipated that these drafts will become a subject of heated debate, and it [i.e. the government] has planned four days for the special [session].

“They [i.e. the drafts] refer to tax legislation. According to our information, (…) it is proposed to increase the tax burden on businesses, which will lead to bankruptcies in many cases.

“The RPA [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia] members admit in private conversations that they are unable to fill the budget, and the abovementioned amendments are aimed at just that,” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
