YEREVAN. – Speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahakyan on Wednesday received PACE co-rapporteurs on Armenia Axel Fischer (Germany) and Alan Meale (UK).

The meeting was attended by head of the Armenian delegation to PACE Hermine Naghdalyan.

Mr. Sahakyan said Armenia is closely following any document on Armenia circulated at PACE, especially when it refers to the country's commitments. He noted that the Council of Europe and Armenia are working on a new action plan for 2015-2017.

Speaking about the constitutional reforms, President of the National Assembly said Armenia is working with the Venice Commission that has given a positive assessment of the concept. The offers on constitutionalists reforms are being formed during the public debates.

As to the Karabakh settlement, Galust Sahakyan said peaceful resolution of the conflict is one of the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy, and Armenia sees exclusively peaceful solution to the conflict.

President of the National Assembly expressed concern over creation of PACE sub-committee on protracted conflicts, since PACE monitoring commission has no mandate to deal with the conflicts.

The Co-rapporteurs hailed the activities of the Armenian delegation to PACE.
