YEREVAN. – Armenia needs to work more effectively with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The secretary of Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly (NA) Faction, Tevan Poghosyan, said the aforementioned at Friday’s NA briefings. He noted this commenting on the PACE decision to prepare a report titled, “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan.”
Poghosyan added that it is indispensable to more actively present the real layout of events to the European colleagues, as some may give in to pressure from Azerbaijan.
“Our [i.e. the Armenian side’s] voice must have enough weight so that we can say to international organizations: ‘You are accountable for your statements that don’t contribute to a peaceful settlement [of the Karabakh conflict],” said the opposition MP.
