Azerbaijani journalist Emin Huseynov was transported to Baku after hiding at the Swiss embassy for nine months.

The journalist was provided an opportunity to use the plane of Swiss Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter who arrived in Baku to attend the opening of European Games, AFP reported.

Last August Huseynov applied to the Swiss embassy asking for asylum because of fear of persecution by Azerbaijani government. According to human rights organizations, Huseynov repeatedly voiced criticism against authoritarian regime of Ilham Aliyev.
