YEREVAN. - Armenia exported 1,159 million/kWh energy to Iran in 2014, Areg Galstyan, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources said in the parliament on Monday, presenting the World Bank credit program on modernizing two high-voltage substations.

“Barter supplies with Iran by the scheme ‘gas in exchange for energy’ successfully work, and we intend to expand them. For this purpose we need to first increase the capabilities of the current high-voltage network, and ultimately construct the second power plant Yerevan HPP, via which barter will be carried out in addition to the operating one,” Galstyan said.
