YEREVAN. - It’s already the 12th day the sit-in against the electricity price hike has been going on in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue.

The situation in Baghramyan Avenue is calm at the moment: the sit-in participants are dancing national dances. Part of the activists is playing volleyball and football, while the rest are holding discussions and awareness marches.

The Police have removed the water canons and military cars from Baghramyan Avenue today. Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan urges the protestors to observe the rules of co-existence, since, according to him, the residents of the neighboring buildings are complaining of noise.

The number of the sit-in participants has significantly decreased on the 12th day of the protest. There are about 200 citizens in Baghramyan Avenue at the moment.

The police continue to exert round-the-clock control in Baghramyan Avenue, but only by police cruisers standing there.  

Earlier, the police issued a statement, according to which they will have to restore public order in Baghramyan Avenue if the sit-in participants continue violating the law and blocking the Avenue.
