YEREVAN. - Awareness action launched from Yerevan’s Liberty Square ended in Baghramyan Avenue, where the action participants joined the sit-in participants.

Baghramyan Avenue sit-in coordinator Davit Sanasaryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am about the importance of citizens’ participation in the sit-in, which demands to cancel the decision on electricity price hike.

“Through the awareness action, we informed and urged the citizens to take part in the sit- in going on in Baghramyan Avenue, since it’s important that the citizens come and take part in the struggle,” he said.

The “No to Plunder” initiative member Maxim Sargsyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the struggle against the electricity tariff rise was unprecedented.

“This struggle was unprecedented, since the residents of nearly 16 cities of the republic had also joined us. We have also been joined by the Armenians worldwide, who are trying to support us by different means. The struggle will continue unless our demand is met,” he said. 

At the moment, the concert of “Zombie” rock band is taking place in Baghramyan Avenue, which is not crowded today.
