Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting today with Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo in the framework of a working visit to France, as reported by the Armenian Government Information and Public Relations Department.

Armenian PM highly appreciated the present level of Armenian-French interstate relations and attached importance to the further development and deepening of cooperation in different directions. According to him, quite wide cooperation at decentralized level is in place between Armenia and France: capital Yerevan and around thirty communities of Armenia are cooperating with their sister cities in France. 

Abrahamyan also underscored the importance of the strengthening cooperation between the two capitals and highly appreciated Anne Hidalgo’s contribution to making those ties closer. According to the PM, the current and planned programs implemented within the framework of Yerevan-Paris cooperation are in the centre of the Armenian Government’s attention. He also expressed readiness to henceforth support the implementation of joint programs together with the Municipality of Yerevan.

Anne Hidalgo said that the two capitals have a large potential for the development of economic cooperation. She attached importance to the deepening of cooperation in the areas of science, education, IT and tourism. The Mayor pointed out to the role and contribution of the French-Armenian community to the development of France and specifically Paris. 

The Armenian Government delegation led by Hovik Abrahamyan visited the exhibition opened in the Municipality of Paris to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
