YEREVAN. - On occasion of the national holiday of France, Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan visited the Embassy of the Fifth Republic in capital Yerevan. He congratulated Ambassador Jean-Francois Charpentier, the embassy staff and the friendly people of France on behalf of the Armenian Government and himself.

“I proudly note that the relations between our countries, based on mutual trust, are today justly characterized as privileged, Armenian and French people being connected with centuries-old historical and cultural ties. Another proof of our exemplary Armenian-French cooperation was my recent visit to France, where our delegation was rather warmly received,” Abrahamyan said.

Touching on the expansion of interregional cooperation, Abrahamyan mentioned the opening of Consulates General of Armenia in Lyon and Marseill and the active development of interaction in cultural, as well as scientific and educational fields.

“I can’t but mention the importance that Armenia attaches to France as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair and its participation in the process of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said.

The PM also congratulated Armenians in France, who “not only contribute to the political, economic and cultural life of France, but also serve a unique bridge in strengthening of our friendship.”
