Access to Twitter has been blocked in Turkey for still unclear reasons.

The Twitter users in Turkey were unable to access their respective accounts on Wednesday morning, reported Sozcu daily of Turkey. Some users managed to access their Twitter accounts solely through special proxy websites.

The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications informed Sozcu that they have nothing to do with the blocking of access to Twitter, and that Turkey’s Union of Internet Providers may have done this.

A senior Turkish official, however, told Reuters news agency that after the recent terrorist act in Suruc, in the Urfa Province of Turkey, access to Twitter has been blocked in the country by a court decision.
