Turkey has not signed any agreement with Iran on supply of weapons to Hezbollah, the Turkish official said.

The statement came in response to information spread by the Italian Corriere della Sera, saying high raking Iranian officials and representatives of the Turkish security services signed a deal according to which Ankara will help Iran with the supply of weapons to Hezbollah, Mignews reported. The representative of the Turkish foreign office said that all accusations are unfounded.

Earlier this month the Turkish authorities expressed discontent with a statement by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak concerning the new head of the Turkish intelligence and his alleged ties with Iran.

The Israeli Defense Minister called Hakan Fidan, newly appointed head of the National Intelligence Organization, “a friend of Iran”.

In his speech on Israeli army radio, Ehud Barak expressed concern over the fact that joint Israeli-Turkish secrets can become available to Iran in next few months.

Thereafter, the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned Israel’s Ambassador Gabby Levy and voiced protest against Barak’s statement.
