YEREVAN. - Armenian National Congress (ANC) and [Armenia’s former president] Levon Ter-Petrosyan have made progress. The force which used to deny the discussion of constitutional reforms is currently discussing the new draft Constitution, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the RPA Executive body session today.
“In the conditions of political pluralism we don’t even expect all political forces to agree with the constitutional reforms. I should mention that ANC and Levon Ter-Petrosyan have made progress. The announcements, analyses and legal assessment voiced by them mean that ANC has entered into substantial discussions,” Sharmazanov said.
As to today’s Executive Session, the ruling party discussed the visit of the President of the European Council to Armenia, as well as Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s meetings with the co-chairs.
Armenian National Congress is the first political force which has referred to Armenia’s new draft Constitution, presenting the serious threats to Armenia included therein.
