Italian newspaper Giornale dell’Umbria published a touristic article on Armenia. The article reads, in part:

“State of yelling stones – Armenia, Armenia!” these were the words of the Russian poet Osip Mandelstam. This expression has remained the most wonderful one, which describes most fully the land, where even objects are endowed with spirit.   

Armenia continues to stay a unique Christian land between the Muslim worlds. “Leaving Armenia is not an easy thing, but it’s even harder not to return there.” Indeed, anyone who appears in this unusual atmosphere, gets enchanted, constantly feeling nostalgic about it.

This country is located at the junction of the East and West; it’s a source of spirituality and natural beauty.

The country borders with wonderful Georgia in the north, Turkey in the west, Azerbaijan in the east, as well as Iran and Azerbaijani enclave Nakhchivan in the south.

The main religion in Armenia is the Armenian Apostolisicm; the official language is Armenia, after which Russian is the most widely used one.

On clear days one might think they can see the Noah’s Ark on Mount Ararat. The wonderful landscapes of this country are marked with wonderful cross-stones. Small country, which seems to be big to every traveler.

The affability the local residents and their generosity to the guests is also widely known. These people suffered brutalities, evil and had to leave their homeland, but they never got embittered.

Churches of this country are hidden in forest corners and mountain heights; these churches were constructed by Armenian masters and architects, which applied effective seismic constructions back in 5-6 centuries.

In Tsitsernakaberd - the “hill of swallows” - located in Yerevan, one should visit the Armenian Genocide Memorial, which is covered by a carpet of red flowers every April 24. The flowers are brought by over millions of people from Armenia and Diaspora.”
