Vahram Arzumanyan, who died in the tragic road accident that occurred early Thursday morning in Yeraskh village in Armenia’s Ararat Province, was the father of singer Vladimir (Vova) Arzumanyan, who had represented Armenia at and won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010.

The singer’s producer, Gayane Mashuryan, confirmed this information to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

She informed that Vladimir’s father and grandfather had a traffic accident on their way to capital city Yerevan.

“Vladimir’s father was a musician; he was working at the music school in Stepanakert [i.e. the capital city of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic],” said Mashuryan. “He was 42 years old; he had two children—Vova and his girl.”

The father of the deceased is in hospital, and he is in satisfactory condition.

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia had received a report on Thursday at 8:25am. Accordingly, a traffic accident had occurred, with an outbreak of fire, in Yeraskh village in the Ararat Province.

A truck with Iranian license plates had collided with seven cars on the Yerevan-Meghri motorway, in Yeraskh village, reported Shamshyan.com.  As a result of the collision, several vehicles had burned down and turned into a heap of ashes, and some others had become scrap metal.

One person had died, whereas nine others were taken to the hospitals in Ararat village and Vedi town.
