Referendum on the constitutional reforms in Armenia will be held in late fall, Armenia’s Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan said today at the meeting with the participants of “Baze” Pan-Armenian Youth Gathering in Armenia’s spa town Tsaghkadzor.

Touching on the issue on whether the Armenian society favors the Constitutional changes in Armenia, the Speaker said: “The referendum will decide this.”

The Specialized Commission on Constitutional Reforms in Armenian has already published Chapters 1-15 of the draft Constitution, which stipulates switching to the parliamentary form of governance. According to the head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Vahram Baghdasaryan, the draft Constitution will most probably be put forward for discussion in Armenia’s Parliament in September.
