On August 20, the Russian and Armenian Presidents will participate in the opening ceremony of the military cemetery Hill of Honor in Gyumri, the burial place of 156 Russian officers killed in the Russian-Turkish wars in the 19th century.

The Hill of Honor is a military cemetery constructed in 1856 under instruction of Chief Commander of Caucasian corps General Nikolay Muravyov.  

On August 19, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his spouse Svetlana Medvedeva arrived on a state visit to Armenia at the invitation of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. The Russian delegation headed by President Dmitry Medvedev and accompanied by Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian and Director of Genocide museum Hayk Demoyan laid a wreath at the Memorial to Armenian Genocide victimsю
