YEREVAN. – Referendum is an important step if it passes well, otherwise it may become an obstacle to the reforms, member of the Venice Commission Talya Khabriyeva said during the meeting with the representatives of the Armenian parliamentary factions and NGOs.

Asked about the lack of trust towards the judiciary and whether there is need in constitutional reforms, Khabriyeva noted that they express their opinion about the text.

“We agree that trust towards the judiciary is background of the constitutional reforms, but we were asked to assess the text precisely,” he said.
