KlezmaFour ensemble concert commemorating the Armenian Genocide took place in Białystok city in eastern Poland.

The ensemble which plays Jewish music in klezmer style, tried to create a musical picture of the lives of Armenians before 1915 and after April 24, Polish newspaper Poranny reports. The article reads:

“Of course, it was very difficult to express all the horrors which the Christian nations in the Ottoman Empire survived. For this purpose, the ensemble sought help from a famous percussionist, and also made brilliant use of the Persian tsymbaly (Marta Maślanka) and baritone vocalization (Maciej Bogumił Nerkowskiy). But the most important sound element was the Armenian duduk, which created incredibly expressive possibilities. The master performer Kamil Radzimowski gave it an expression of a human voice.  

Armenia’s ambassador also visited Białystok and thanked the concert organizers for the performance.
