YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Thursday received newly appointed President Oleg Belozerov of Russian Railways (RZD) JSC, which has assumed the asset management of the Armenian railways.
First, Sargsyan congratulated Belozerov on his appointment. He also expressed the hope that the new RZD chief will use his professional knowhow and organizational skills to strengthen the Armenian-Russian allied partnership.
The Armenian President underscored the close cooperation in a variety of domains, and in terms of development and strengthening of interstate relations.
Separately, Serzh Sargsyan thanked South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC General Director Victor Rebets, in connection with the end of his respective tenure.
Oleg Belozerov, for his part, assured the Armenian president that he will develop the positive trend in the improvement of Armenia’s railway infrastructure.
At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors reflected on the respective work carried out so far, and discussed the ongoing projects, still-existing challenges, and prospects for development in the Armenian railways.
