Snap governor elections will be held in Russia’s Irkutsk Oblast this Sunday. The candidacy of the acting governor Sergey Vladimirovich Yeroshenko has also been proposed.
In the run-up to the elections, representatives of “Armenian Cultural Society of Irkutsk” led by the head of Irkutsk’s Armenian community Samvel Voskanyan held a consultation during which, according to the representative of the Armenian community Amur Arakelyan, it was unanimously decided to vote for Sergey Yeroshenko, who repeatedly backed the Armenians in different issues.
