YEREVAN. - Armenia will use the $200 soft loan provided by Russia for the procurement of ultra-modern weaponry, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) spokesman and Armenian Parliament Vice-Chairman Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the meeting of the RPA Supreme Body session today.

Touching on the results of the meeting of Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sharmazanov said this was an effective meeting of the heads of two ally countries. “Armenia must continue its close cooperation with Russia. We will continue enhancing the security system; Russia’s role is also essential in this matter,” he said.

Referring to Karabakh issue, Sharmazanov said: “During the meeting of the presidents, the Russian side confirmed that the Karabakh conflict must be settled exclusively through peaceful means.”

On Monday Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan visited Moscow, where had a meeting with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.
