Azerbaijanis living in Dagestan—a federal subject of Russia—on Sunday started a brawl in a karaoke bar in Volgograd, Russia, and they beat up an Armenian youth.

Chairman of the Volgograd Chapter of the Union of Armenians of Russia, Artur Mkrtchyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“They had entered the karaoke bar with five people and drunk; they had behaved very badly,” said Mkrtchyan. “The owner of the facility had asked them to go out [to speak]; (…) they had come out and started beating up someone with five people.”

But the young man, whom they were beating, picked up a rifle from the car and fired shots in self-defense. As a result, an unfortunate incident occurred.

“The young man is in hospital at the moment; his name is Artak,” added Artur Mkrtchyan. “The jaw, hand, [and] ribs of the youth are broken; he narrowly escaped death.”
