YEREVAN. - Head of Armenia’s oppositional Heritage faction Ruben Hakobyan is quitting his membership to the party, and is also withdrawing from the office of the faction head.

Hakobyan wrote a statement on his Facebook page, which reads: “In the recent period my and Raffi Hovannisian’s approaches in both external and internal, as well as inter-party organizational issues have been radically different, which makes our joint team work inefficient.

I greatly respect Raffi, but I don’t want our political disagreements to negatively impact the political plans of Heritage and, specifically, Raffi Hovannisian.

I quit my membership to the Heritage party and withdraw from the authorities of the head of the faction. Thanks to all Heritage members for our joint activity during the recent years.”
