YEREVAN. – The regional role of Iran has grown after the recent events, and Armenia is the most interested party in this respect.

President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan, stated the aforesaid at his talk Tuesday with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reisi, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

Sahakyan underscored the programs and projects that were implemented as a result of collaboration between the Armenian parliament and the Iranian embassy, informed the NA.

The parliament speaker noted that greater opportunities for cooperation are emerging, and the previously deferred projects will resume.

The NA chairman said Armenian-Iranian relationship is on a high level, and new opportunities are being created to further deepen this relationship.

Galust Sahakyan also wished the Iranian diplomat more success in his future work

Ambassador Reisi, for his part, stressed Sahakyan’s considerable role in making Armenian-Iranian relations grow deeper.

He also underscored parliamentary diplomacy in terms of the development of relations between friendship countries.

In addition, the ambassador thanked the NA President for assisting in the Iranian embassy programs that were implemented during his years of diplomatic mission in Armenia.
