YEREVAN. – A group of students at Ayb High School in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, have decided to build devices of critical importance for the country, and they already have made their first respective attempts.

For example, the school graduates have constructed a minesweeping robot, which already has found landmines in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Grade 12 student Onik Babajanyan and Ayb graduate Mikayel Hovakimyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they have constructed a drone together with three other students.

The boys are now working on the second—and more advanced—drone.

In their words, this drone is the first of its kind in Armenia. It records territories on video, operates without remote control, and—thanks batteries—stays in the air for a long duration.

The second drone, which the boys are now building, will stay even longer in the air.

Another group of Ayb High School students plan to develop a robot submarine to study the cracks at the bottom of Armenia’s Lake Sevan, and which pose a considerable risk should an earthquake hit the area. They say this robot submarine will be ready in two months.
