The Russian law enforcement agencies have launched a criminal case into the crash of the passenger bus that was en route from Moscow to Yerevan, reported Interfax news agency.

Spokesperson of the Tula Oblast (province) Department of the Russian Ministry of the Interior, Andrei Yartsev, informed that the criminal case was opened on charges of “Recklessly causing the death of two or more persons as a result of breaking the road traffic and vehicle operation rules.”

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia, seven Armenian citizens were killed and 43 others were injured in the bus crash. Doctors say nine of the injured are in serious condition. There were no children in the vehicle.

According to preliminary data, the passenger bus, which was traveling from Moscow to Yerevan, had gone off road for yet unknown reasons and turned over at around 3:08am, nearby Ilinka village in the Uzlovsky District in Tula Oblast, Russia.
