YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia has proposed to convene a special session of the National Assembly (NA). 

The Government Chief of Staff-Minister, Davit Harutyunyan, announced the aforesaid at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

It is proposed that this special session begin on November 10.

In particular, the bill on making amendments to the Electoral Code, and the Law on Identification [(ID)] Cards—and which will give the Armenian citizens the right to vote also with ID cards—are planned to be debated in this special NA session. 

The said law is expected to be debated at the second—and final—reading. 

Several other laws are also planned to be discussed at the second reading of the Armenian parliament.
