On September 2, The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) is holding a rally in Yerevan to mark the 19th anniversary of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence.

The ARF member Gegham Manukyan is conducting the rally. According to him September 2 is a special day for the ARF. “First, today is Nagorno-Karabakh Independence Day. Secondly, the same day a year ago, during its rally the ARF initiated the process of Armenian-Turkish protocols. It took us a year to realize the protocols caused damage to the NKR’s independence,” Manukyan said.

The ARF Bureau member Levon Mkrtchyan pointed out that “Artsakh is a free and self-sufficient country. Our opponents ask us what we mean by independence. One thing is clear for us: the NKR must be internationally recognized. It was a major concession on our part to replace the slogan ‘unification’ with the slogan ‘formation of two independent states.’ We are threatened with war, but we are not afraid. Our struggle will go on until Artsakh is recognized,” he said.
