Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was not hiding the motives behind destroying the Russian warplane claiming that Ankara had attacked the Su-24 to defend the security and rights of its “brothers” in Syria, RIA Novosti news agency of Russia reported citing an article published in the Il Giornale daily of Italy.

As per the article, when speaking about “brothers,” however, Erdoğan meant not only the Turkmen, but also the terrorist organizations that enjoy Ankara’s support.

The author of this article also noted that, over the past twenty years of his absolute power in Turkey, Erdoğan managed to Islamize the country and implement an expansionist policy.

According to the article, it seems Turkey is now seeking a pretext for war by drawing NATO into it.

The Turkish air force on Tuesday shot down a Russian Su-24 attack aircraft/interdictor on the Turkish-Syrian border. The warplane was taking part in the antiterrorism operations in Syria.
