The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ response to the frequent armed conflicts on NKR-Azerbaijan line of contact is not adequate, MP from the Republican parliamentary group (RPA) Mkrtich Mkrtchyan told the reporters on Tuesday.
According to him, the mediators try to maintain parity and avoid denouncing Azerbaijani acts of sabotage. “The statements must be specific ones, as it is a fact that the Azerbaijani side launched the attacks. If the mediators are impartial, the statement should have been a forceful condemnation of Azerbaijani attacks,” he said.
The MP stressed Azerbaijani acts of sabotage testify to the fact that Karabakh peace process is not “to its liking.” The Russian factor accounts for the discontent with the process, as Azerbaijan hoped to sign a military strategic document with Russia on the purchase of S-300 aircraft defense systems.
Recently, Azerbaijan has been regularly violating ceasefire and committing acts of sabotage in the frontline. The last attack was carried out on September 4.
