The driver suspected in a road accident on Armenia’s Sisian – Meghri motorway in 2014 was found in Russia. Measures are taken to extradite him to Armenia, Armenia’s Investigative Committee press-service representatives informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.
A. Hovhannisyan, resident of Kapan town of Armenia’s Syunik province, apparently violated the traffic rules, crossing into the oncoming lane and then turning left, where he collided with an Opel Vectra. Driver of the latter, A. Poghosyan, passengers A. Gasparyan, K. Gasparyan and minor M. Alexanyan immediately died, while the three other passengers were hospitalized. After the accident, A. Hovhannisyan left the accident site and absconded. On July 28, he was put on the wanted list.
On 14 September 2015, Hovhannisyan was found by the Russian police and arrested.
