YEREVAN. - The negotiations on Karabakh conflict have not recorded progress this year, but the negotiation process is underway. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said the aforementioned at the reception held by Armenia’s MFA on occasion of Christmas and New Year.
The President congratulated the Ministry staff on the coming holidays, thanking for the work implemented by the MFA this year.
In his congratulatory speech, Sargsyan also summed up 2015, referring to the achievements, faults, difficulties and challenges during the year. He also touched on the projects and expectations in 2016.
Sargsyan stressed that 2015 was a memorable, eventful and thus tense year not only for the Armenian citizens but also the entire Armenian nation: numerous events commemorating the Armenian Genocide Centennial were held with dignity and at a high level in many countries of the world. The President underscored the importance of the role of the MFA staff in this.
The President referred to other important events for Armenia, such as the accession to the EEU and launch of negotiations on a new legal framework with the EU, stressing that the realistic decisions on getting involved in those integration processes have great significance in terms of further development of Armenia.
Sargsyan also touched on the negotiation process aimed at the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, stating that this year saw no progress in the progress of negotiations, but the negotiation process in underway and the efforts in this direction must be multiplied during the coming year.
