YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Monday convened a consultation. 

At the meeting, Chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC), Artak Shaboyan, reported that an inspection was conducted—before and after the New Year holidays in the country—on 20 types of products of societal importance, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia.

As a result, according to Shaboyan, a considerable price reduction was recorded in virtually all of these products. Furthermore, there are products—such as eggs and flour—whose prices have fallen by 30 to 40 percent. 

Artak Shaboyan added that, overall, the Armenian market is stable, and price increases were not recorded. 

PM Abrahamyan, for his part, urged the SCPEC chairman to continue their inspections and submit the respective findings to the cabinet staff.
