YEREVAN. – The official data issued by the Central Bank of Armenia reveal that the private remittances being sent to the country from abroad continue to reduce at enormous rates, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reported.

“According to these data, the volume of net inflow of the private remittances [sent to the country] amounted to 68.4 million [US] dollars in November of last year, against the more than 90 million dollars (a decrease of 24 percent) recorded in November 2014.

“This is particularly noteworthy in that the volume of private remittances had already reduced by 35 percent in 2014, as compared to its preceding year.

“So the volume of private remittances [being sent to Armenia] has decreased by more than twice within two years, on the basis of the month of November,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
