YEREVAN. – Powers of the third Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Karen Andreasyan, will terminate as of Monday because, pursuant to the respective law, he has repeated his resignation on this day.

The relevant writing has been forwarded to the National Assembly.

Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, as of Tuesday, Armenian citizens can only get legal advice at the office.

Those who wish to protect their rights through the Ombudsman, however, can apply solely after the election of a new Human Rights Defender of Armenia.
