YEREVAN. – Incumbent Mayor Armen Santrosyan, who is a member of the Ruling Republican Party of Armenia, won Sunday’s mayoral election that was conducted in Dilijan town of Tavush Province.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Central Electoral Commission that Santrosyan received 6,797 votes, whereas his nonpartisan challenger, Zhora Sahabalyan, garnered 4,353 votes.

Local elections were held on the same day also in Tatev village in Syunik Province, where Murad Simonyan triumphed, and in Tumanyan town in Lori Province, where Levon Zavaryan came out the winner.
