YEREVAN. – The Haykakan Zhamanak daily’s reporter had asked the Republic of Armenia State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (RA SCPEC) to provide information on the price at which the Armenian companies purchase the Russian Federation (RF) gasoline, the daily reported.
“How is it that the gasoline is two times more expensive in the RA than in the RF? Our reporter, however, did not receive the answer to this question. ‘The given information is a commercial secret, and it may undermine the interests of any business working in the domain,’ notes the written reply sent by the SCPEC.
“To note, Commission Chairman of the Artak Shaboyan, speaking to reporters last week, had expressed readiness to provide such information, if the journalists petition with such a request.
“In fact, the information on the abnormal high price of gasoline in Armenia ‘is a commercial secret,’” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
