YEREVAN. - The memorandum on coalition between the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) will be signed next week.

RPA Spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov stated the aforementioned after the RPA Executive Body (EB) session today. 

According to him, inter-political issues were discussed at the session. “The EB members discussed the key points related to the political agreement. These points will be discussed during this week, and the final memorandum will be ready next week. And you will also have our agreement,” Sharmazanov said, stressing that the memorandum will be signed. 

Commenting on the announcements of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction head Levon Zurabyan on the future coalition and ARF, Sharmazanov said: “It will be no sensation if I disagree with the ANC faction head over his statement on the cooperation, ARF and President’s speech. It was the defeat of his political force that made Zurabyan speak like that. ARF is not to blame for such an unfavorable state of the ANC.”

The RPA Spokesman said he doesn’t think the coalition formation is being dragged out. “Cooperation is not merely a mechanical process of distributing posts, but a continuous cooperation program, which is based on both the declaration provisions and the presidential speech points. Whatever has a serious objective can’t be carried out in one or two days,” he said.

“ARF is a serious political force, an influential and national one. We have had different views, but one thing is obvious: ARF has played a great role in our history, and this cannot be underestimated,” Sharmazanov said.
