YEREVAN. - The Armenian opposition should concertedly advance proposals on the Electoral Code with the aim of preventing falsifications.
Head of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction Levon Zurabyan stated the aforesaid in the parliament today.
According to the opposition MP, the international community is impressed by the scale of falsifications during the constitutional referendum on 6 December 2015, as well as by the will of the Armenian community towards struggle.
In these conditions, the civil society and the opposition should merely come up with a single package of proposals in the Electoral Code, Zurabyan said. In his words, it’s necessary to unite round a number of key requirements: publicizing voter lists, clearing the lists, installing web-cameras and putting ink on fingers to avoid repeated voting.
“The authorities will violently resist, since this will mean the end to the great falsification. Thus, it’s necessary to form a serious front so that the authorities are forced to make concessions,” Levon Zurabyan stressed.
